AskChief is a technical superintendent co-pilot that:

Is configured and trained to think, act, and answer as a technical superintendent, with reasoning ability and deep maritime knowledge.
Has contextual knowledge of the shipping company and its vessels (see sources below) and can reference specific documents to support troubleshooting.
Serves as a virtual assistant to the superintendent, bridging communication with onboard crews.
Offers AI-powered tools to capture and catalog reported issues and resolutions (e.g., defect reports).
Preserves the intelligence of the ship, ensuring no knowledge is lost.

Ask questions and test responses grounded in company’s manuals and protocols.
Attach files (images, text-based PDFs) ad-hoc for interpretation and troubleshooting.
Use AI-powered reporting:
- Generate an “Issue”: Summarises a chat thread, enabling superintendent <> crew <> AskChief 3-way conversations.
- Generate a Defect Report: PDF summary including description, causes, actions, and outcomes.

- Fleet Control: Admins choose per vessel whether crew use Basic (source listing only) or Pro (full troubleshooting) version.
